We are proud and excited to offer you our first two types of Hellenic Gift Honey. They have been produced from bees pollinating Fir Trees in the mountainous regions of North and South Peloponnese in Greece. Hellenic Gift Honey is absolutely delicious and packed full of nutrition.
FIR TREE HONEY
Fir Tree Honey is luscious and thick and produces a mildly sweet taste, unlike many other Honey varieties. The biodiversity of the Peloponnese Mountains and the rare Greek Flora are key factors in helping produce some of the world's finest Honey.
Honey is said to be the only food product in the world that will never spoil. If it is sealed well and stored in a cool dry place, it could last forever! Honey is truly an amazing Superfood. In ancient times, Honey was used as a medical treatment for open wounds and is said to dramatically increase the rate of healing due to its antiseptic properties.
Hellenic Gift’s chosen beekeepers have generations of experience. They have a rich heritage and great pride to produce the finest honey in Greece. As is true with so many things in life, when something is produced with love, pride and passion, the results can be outstanding!
ORGANIC FIR TREE HONEY
Hellenic Gift Organic Fir Tree Honey is certified by BIO HELLAS, the leading certification authority in Greece. It is distinguished from other honey by its creamy light brown colour and slightly granular texture. This is a rare and unique honey with an astonishingly good taste. The aroma is mild yet complex, drawing its characteristics from the high altitude Fir Trees and flowers which are prevalent in the Northern Mountains of the Peloponnese.
It is rich in trace elements such as potassium, magnesium, phosphorus and iron and is very gentle on the digestive system.
This Organic Honey is a very good source of antioxidants which helps reduce the risk of heart disease, asthma and chronic cough. For general health and well-being we recommend consuming a teaspoon every morning.
This rarely occurs unless the honey is left in a very cold environment. Many people mistake crystallisation for the honey going “off”. On the contrary, it is the way in which the honey actually preserves itself. Simply place the jar in a pot of warm (not hot) water and stir, the honey will liquefy very quickly.
SPECIAL RESERVE FIR TREE HONEY
Hellenic Gift Special Reserve Honey is rich in aromatic substances and simply an outstanding tasting honey. It boasts a beautiful, deep golden amber colour and is truly a honey to admire.
Our Honey is raw, unheated, and virtually unaltered from its natural state from within the beehive. No chemicals or pesticides are ever used in producing this honey.
Fie Tree Honey is produced from bees pollinating Fir Trees in the high altitude region of the Southern Peloponnese Mountains. It is rich in minerals, trace elements and iron and is said to aid in the treatment of upset stomach and bowel problems.
This honey is delightful when used to sweeten teas, cakes or desserts. Due to the low GI composition, it is an excellent spread to be used on toast for breakfast. Drizzle it on yoghurt and mix it in with walnuts and fruit for an Ultra healthy breakfast.
